New Tennis Rackets 2027: What’s Coming From Every Brand
New Tennis Rackets 2027: What’s Coming From Every Brand
By Josh, PH Tennis
Quick Summary
I know what's coming next year, and I think I know some other things too. Some of this I know because I've been told or I've seen it. Some is an educated guess based on how long a racket has been out, how well it's done and what the brands generally do. And a couple are complete guesses. Last year we guessed the Yonex MUSE and got it right, so we're pretty good at this.
The big rackets of 2027, as I see it:
- Babolat: a brand new racket, which I've play tested.
- Yonex: an updated and improved PERCEPT.
- Head: a brand new Gravity, which I think is going to be a great frame.
- Wilson: I think the whole range gets ripped up and started again, apart from the Defyer and the Blade.
Watch the video above for the full rundown, brand by brand.

What This Is
This is our look at what's coming in 2027. 2026 has been a very strong year. We've had a new Pure Aero, a new VCORE and, more recently, the Defyer, with all sorts of new rackets coming and going. In 2027 there are new rackets coming from several brands, plus new strings and new shoes. I think there are going to be some name changes too.
We're going brand by brand. I'll be clear on each one about whether I know, whether I've seen it, or whether I'm guessing.
My Verdict
I think the big rackets of the year are going to be the new Babolat, an updated and improved Yonex PERCEPT, and a brand new Head Gravity, which I think will be a great frame.
From Wilson, I'm still not really sure. But I think we'll get a new Ultra, a new Pro Staff and a new Clash, and either a new RF01 or no RF at all. I think the whole Wilson range will be ripped up and started again, other than the Defyer and the Blade, the two that people actually like.
Brand by Brand
Wilson
Wilson have had a big 2026, culminating in the Defyer launch, and I think there are a lot more changes coming in 2027. We've lost the Shift. There won't be a new Shift, because the Defyer has replaced it.
Pro Staff. It's probably time for a new one. We had the classic paint job this year. Will we get version 14? I think we probably will, but maybe not until the middle or end of next year.
Clash and Ultra. I think the Clash will get an update, and maybe the Ultra too. Within the Ultra, I think we could get the same torque shaft tech we see in the Defyer, but with a stiffened-up head. That would give you similar playability to the Defyer, with a bit more power. I think they'll use that tech to bring the Ultra closer to a Babolat Pure Drive, much like the Defyer sits against the Pure Aero.
RF. When you think Wilson, you think Federer. We have the RF01, we've had all the different paint jobs, and we've had the Hall of Fame edition very recently. Is it time for an RF02? It's been out for a while now. If Wilson are going to keep the RF as a separate line, they'll have to update it. So either the RF02 comes, or the RF gets scrapped and the Pro Staff gets developed instead. I don't think we'll get both. My feeling is the RF will go and the Pro Staff will be developed.
Luxilon. Wilson have a very close link to Luxilon. Wilson distribute Luxilon globally, apart from in Belgium, where Luxilon is still family run. I can confirm there's a new Luxilon string coming in January. It's the string we tested in the Defyers when they came out, when it was still a prototype, so it's safe to assume it'll probably be red. I don't know much more about it, but I enjoyed it when I used it with the Defyers. If you're into strings, that's pretty exciting. If you're not, it's pretty boring.
Yonex
Yonex are very secretive about their releases, and they always read these. So, Yonex, for clarity: I have not seen, read or been told anything about next year's rackets. This is all complete guesswork. If I happen to get it right, great.
PERCEPT. I think there's almost certainly a new PERCEPT, and I think it'll be quite a change. At the moment the range is quite a hybrid. You've got the 97H, which is quite a precision frame, and the 100D, which is a bit more powerful in that control-orientated space. I think it'll move closer to something like a Wilson Blade or Head Speed, and further from a Pro Staff or Prestige type racket. Maybe slightly stiffer and slightly more powerful: a modern control frame with a little pop, like the Blade with its added power, or the Speed. More of a power control frame than a classic control frame like the Gravity.
As for colour, I'd guess a shade of green, but who knows. It's been green and purple before. If it ends up looking like a Blade too, that would be direct competition.
VCORE. If Yonex stick to their current pattern, I think we'll get a new VCORE colourway later in the year, moving on from the Ruby Red we have now. Last time we had Sand Beige, which was quite smart, so maybe something similar. Maybe a bright white.
Something else. I've heard rumours of something new from Yonex towards the end of this year, around December. I don't think it's a racket. It might be footwear. When Yonex do something new, it's often pretty good.
Head
Head have the biggest range of rackets, so they often have the most releases.
Squared. We had the Squared this year as a brand new line. I can confirm it's coming back with updates, not to the Squared racket itself, but to the whole range. I think we'll get something like a Squared Power, a Squared Spin and maybe a Squared Control, so three or four rackets in the range. The Squared is all about intermediate players. It's a very easy racket to pick up, and its USP is being the most head light racket on the market. So I'd guess we'll see changes to the frame technology and balance to bring in power, spin and control. And there's definitely a pink one coming, because I've seen the picture. It looks good.
Gravity and Radical. We're almost certainly getting a new Gravity and Radical, because I've seen them. The Gravity in particular looks fantastic. I promise you, it looks great. Who knows how it will play. I think it's safe to assume we'll get Hy-Bor in both, much like this year's updates to the Speed, Boom and Extreme. The Radical is a new frame, as always, and it's bright. Maybe orange. I'd expect both in the first quarter of next year.
Prestige. Later in the year, I think we'll finally get a Prestige. It might be a smaller, condensed range with only one or two frames, but I think we'll get Prestiges.
Limited editions. We've had the Extreme, Speed and Boom this year, and the Radical and Gravity are coming early next year. Other than the Prestige, there's not much else Head can change. So I think we'll see a lot of limited edition colourways in the middle to end of next year, much like two years ago when we had the Arthur Ashe, the Boom Neon and the Palm Tree Crew.
Babolat
I think we're going to have a big year from Babolat.
Wimbledon 150. Next year is 150 years of Wimbledon, and Babolat are the main racket sponsor. I'm pretty sure, partly because I've seen it, that we'll have some pretty cool Babolat Wimbledon merch, rackets, bags and more for the Wimbledon period. The bags, as always, are fantastic. Watch this space.
A brand new racket. This has been a very badly kept secret. We've seen clips online of some of Babolat's ATP Challenger Tour players and junior players using the frame, which has more vertical sides. It's currently being called the PP01, and I have play tested it.
Pure Strike. We'll undoubtedly get a new Pure Strike, which I think will come later in the year, and I think it'll get a new name. I really feel the Pure Strike, much like the Shift at Wilson, hasn't captured the market the way it should have, given how good the racket is. I think we might get an upgraded Pure Strike to try to revitalise the franchise against the Blade, the Speed and what will be a new PERCEPT. Name suggestions? It used to be the Pure Control, and we've had the Pure Storm. Pure Strike is actually quite a good name, but I think we'll get quite a big update and potentially a name change too. You heard it here first.
Limited edition Pure Aeros. With my ear to the ground, I'm told we're going to get limited edition Pure Aeros in a Carlos Alcaraz colourway.
Tecnifibre
Tecnifibre will have a new T-Fight next year. It's due an update, and I've seen it, although I haven't played with it yet. It looks pretty similar to the current one.
The current T-Fight was very well received. It's a very nicely balanced racket with a nice balance of control and power, and I think the new one will stay along the same lines. For me, the current one lacked a little of the fun of the previous T-Fight, so maybe we'll get a little more weight towards the head, making it a bit whippier and a bit more aggressive. The range is also getting quite big, with several 98s and several 100s. If you're a T-Fight user, there will be one for you to try, probably around January or February.
We had the Reilly Opelka pink TF40 this year, which we weren't even able to get in the UK. If you got your hands on one, good luck to you. I think we might see more limited editions, and Tecnifibre also do player specials, like the Swiatek and Medvedev editions with different dampeners and colours.
Solinco, ProKennex and Dunlop
These are some of the lesser-known brands here in the UK, but I've heard about them or I'm hypothesising.
Solinco. I think we're going to get a third Solinco racket. We have the Blackout and the Whiteout, so it's time for a Grayout. I think it'll be a spin frame, which fits the rest of the range. It's been known as the M3, so maybe it isn't a Grayout after all.
ProKennex. I believe we'll get some new ProKennex rackets, probably a new Kinetic and a new Q+.
Dunlop. We've definitely got new CXs coming. We haven't played them yet, but we'll be sure to very soon.
Footwear
We don't normally talk about footwear much, because it's boring. But we do have some exciting news from Adidas of all brands. They're very well known in other sports, but in tennis their footwear, other than the Barricade, hasn't been as popular recently.
There's a brand new Adidas tennis shoe coming in December, and it looks brilliant. It replaces an existing franchise that isn't the Barricade, which gives you an idea of how it's supposed to feel on court. It looks very much like the Evo SL, Adidas's very famous running shoe, and I think it uses similar tech, with added stability for tennis. It's going to be lightweight and powerful, and maybe even feel like a feather on your feet.
We're also going to get new Vapors from Nike, probably the Asics Gel-Resolution 11 at some point, and probably some new On shoes as well. Footwear brands update every six months, but sometimes it's just colours and sometimes it's actually new tech. Let's see who can make the best tennis shoe next year.
Strings
String is very important, and it probably gets overlooked when it comes to new releases.
Toroline. I think it's very safe to assume we'll have somewhere between 3 and 17 releases from Toroline. And one of those should probably be a PH Tennis collab, because let's face it, you've done it with everybody else. We've got to be next.
Luxilon. As I said, there's a new Luxilon string coming in January.
reString. I think it's time for a new reString string to go alongside the Vivo, Sync, Slap and Zero. What it will be, I don't know. They've just released a new Matrix, which shows they don't really have anything on the softer side. So I think we might get a soft poly, maybe even a multifilament. reString like to do things that are very new, so it wouldn't surprise me if they went all out.
Solinco. I think we might get a soft version of the Mach-10, which was released earlier this year. A soft version would go down very well, much like the Hyper-G Soft does at the moment.
Thinking of Buying Before 2027?
If you can't wait, or the racket you love isn't changing, the best thing you can do is get it in your hand before you buy.
Our demo service lets you test any racket properly, wherever you are in the UK. Add £25 to any adult racket order and we string it, fit an overgrip, add protection tape and send it out. Get on court and test it properly. If it's wrong, return it for a full refund on the racket, minus strings and the demo fee. If it's right, we refund the £25.

FAQ
What new tennis rackets are coming in 2027?
Confirmed or seen by PH Tennis: a brand new Babolat racket (codename PP01), a new Head Gravity and Radical, an expanded Head Squared range, and a new Tecnifibre T-Fight range. Our educated guesses include a new Yonex PERCEPT, a new Babolat Pure Strike, a Head Prestige, and a new Wilson Pro Staff, Clash and Ultra.
Is there a new Babolat racket coming in 2027?
Yes. A brand new Babolat racket, currently called the PP01, has been seen in use by Challenger Tour and junior players. Josh from PH Tennis has play tested it.
When is the new Head Gravity coming out?
We expect the new Head Gravity and Radical in the first quarter of 2027. We've seen both, and the Gravity looks fantastic. We expect both to include Hy-Bor.
Is there a new Yonex PERCEPT coming?
We think so, but this is purely our guess. We've had no information from Yonex. We expect it to move towards a modern, slightly more powerful control frame, closer to a Wilson Blade or Head Speed.
Is the Wilson Shift being discontinued?
There won't be a new Shift. The Wilson Defyer has replaced it.
Will there be a new Wilson Pro Staff in 2027?
We think probably, maybe a version 14 around the middle or end of 2027. We think Wilson will either update the RF or scrap it and develop the Pro Staff instead.
Is there a new Tecnifibre T-Fight coming?
Yes. We've seen it. It looks similar to the current T-Fight, with a bigger range including several 98s and 100s, probably around January or February 2027.
Is there a new Luxilon string coming?
Yes, in January 2027. It's the string we tested as a prototype in the Wilson Defyers.
Should I wait until 2027 to buy a new racket?
If the racket you're considering is due an update, it may be worth waiting. If not, there's no reason to hold off. Either way, demo before you buy.
Where can I demo a tennis racket in the UK?
PH Tennis offers a UK-wide demo service. Add £25 to any adult racket order, and the racket is strung, gripped, taped and sent out. If it's not right, return it for a full refund minus strings and the demo fee. If it is, the £25 is refunded.

Final Thoughts
So there you have it: a new Babolat, an updated and improved Yonex PERCEPT, a brand new Head Gravity, and a Wilson range that I think gets ripped up and started again, other than the Defyer and the Blade.
Let us know in the comments on the video what you've been hearing, what you think might be changing, or what you think I've got wrong. As always, thank you very much for reading. Share this with a friend so they don't buy a racket too soon. They can wait for what's coming next year, because let's face it, new rackets are always better.
