23 of London's 32 boroughs now charge for every game of park tennis

We checked prices at council and park courts across every London borough. In most of them there's no free option at all, not for an hour, not ever. A few still have a free morning or a discounted window. Only one borough has courts that are free full stop. Search the map to see what it costs where you live.

How we did this

Between 25 and 28 August 2026 we checked pay-and-play tennis prices at council and park courts in every London borough, using each operator's own booking page wherever one exists. Most boroughs run several courts under one shared rate, so each borough's figure comes from its main network rather than every single park. Where a price genuinely couldn't be found or confirmed, we've said so rather than guessed. Westminster's figure, for instance, reflects Paddington Recreation Ground only. Two other Royal Parks courts in the borough, Regent's Park and Hyde Park, don't publish a price anywhere we could find.

"Free" means free for anyone to turn up and play, not a discount limited to under-18s, over-60s or benefits claimants. Where that kind of concession exists, we've noted it, but it doesn't count as the borough having a free option.
