Every summer, Wimbledon
inspires millions.
Most never make it on court.
A data-led investigation into how Britain's most-watched tennis fortnight changes what people search, buy, and book -- and why the inspiration gap remains so wide.
The Wimbledon spike is real -- and it's growing.
PH Tennis website data shows a clear and accelerating Wimbledon effect year on year. Sessions during the tournament fortnight have grown significantly against baseline, with 2025 showing the strongest uplift yet at 79% above the pre-tournament period.
"Every year the Wimbledon window gets stronger. In 2025 we saw nearly double the traffic of our baseline period -- and crucially, those visitors are converting, not just browsing."

Wimbledon drives coaching. But coaching pages top the charts.
One of the most striking findings from PH Tennis data is that during Wimbledon, visitors go straight to coaching pages -- not the shop. Three of the top four landing pages during the tournament fortnight are coaching-related, with individual lessons the clear priority. This suggests Wimbledon-inspired visitors arrive with clear intent to improve, not just to browse.

What British tennis players actually say
A survey of 155 UK tennis players conducted during Wimbledon 2026 reveals the gap between inspiration and action -- and the real barriers that stop people following through. Respondents are predominantly London-based club players from the PH Tennis community.
66% feel inspired. 49% do nothing about it.
The data tells a consistent story. Wimbledon creates genuine, measurable intent -- website traffic nearly doubles, coaching leads surge 76%, conversions quadruple. But survey data shows that among tennis players themselves, nearly half take no action after feeling inspired. The gap between intent and action is the defining challenge of the Wimbledon window.
"The visitors who arrive during Wimbledon are ready to act -- they come straight to our coaching pages. The challenge is giving them a clear, easy path from that first click to actually being on court."
