Weekly One-to-One Tennis Coaching for Adults in North London - PH Tennis
Weekly One-to-One Tennis Coaching for Adults in North London - PH Tennis
The courses have a start and an end. This doesn't.
Our weekly individual coaching is for players who want ongoing, bespoke one-to-one attention - building their game over months and seasons, bringing real match problems back to the court each week, and steadily turning coaching into results. It's the option for players who are serious about getting genuinely, durably better.
Here's how it works.
Quick Summary
Weekly one-to-one · Monthly direct debit · One-to-one with an LTA qualified coach · Flexible rescheduling · Winchmore Hill, Southgate and Enfield
A regular weekly individual lesson on a monthly direct debit. The content is bespoke - the same material as our Complete Shot Making and Decision Making courses, but delivered continuously and tailored to you, building out your complete game over time. Flexible: reschedule with 24 hours' notice, or give your slot to another player if you can't make it. Best suited to players who are competing and want to keep improving their match play.
How the Structure Works
You have a regular weekly slot, paid monthly by direct debit - the same simple structure as our group programme, with real flexibility built in.
If you can't make your usual slot: as long as you give us 24 hours' notice, you can book into any other available slot that same week, with any coach who has availability. You don't lose the lesson.
If you genuinely can't attend: you can give your slot to someone else. Send a friend or another player in your place - the lesson doesn't go to waste.
That flexibility is deliberate. Adults have work, family and travel to juggle, and a rigid structure means missed lessons and wasted money. This way, your coaching fits your life.
What Makes It Different From the Courses
Our Complete Shot Making and Decision Making courses are fixed six-lesson blocks with a defined syllabus. Weekly coaching is more bespoke - but it covers the same content, just delivered continuously and shaped around you.
Over time, weekly coaching is really about building out your complete matrix.
Remember the eighteen options from our decision making framework - nine forehands, nine backhands, across the topspin, flat and slice families, in defensive, neutral and attacking versions. Weekly coaching is where we make sure you genuinely have options in all of those boxes: a full range of shots, across every family and every DNA scenario, each one developed thoroughly enough that you can actually use it in match play.
Then it goes further. We work on your ability to adjust your own court position, your relationship to the ball and your own thought process, so you can consistently use the shots you're best at. This is where your archetype and your beliefs about how you want to play really take over.
Coaching That Serves Your Style
Once you have the full matrix, the coaching becomes about helping you play *your* game.
If you want to speed points up and play aggressively, you'll learn to step in and take the ball early rather than letting it drop - which means living in the flat-shot family, taking the ball level. If you'd rather lengthen points and stay in rallies, you'll sit further back, let the ball drop and work it up - rolling, ripping, brushing or sweeping depending on which sensation suits you - and you'll rarely need the slice family at all.
There's no single correct way. Weekly coaching is about taking the shots you've got and the decision-making tools we give you, and applying them to influence your match play in the direction *you* want to play - over a long enough period that it genuinely sticks.
Not sure what your natural style is? Our guide to player archetypes will help you find it:
Why We Want You Playing Matches
Here's something we're clear about with our weekly clients: the best results come when you're actually playing matches.
We love it when clients arrive at their lesson with genuine problems - real situations from real matches that didn't work. A shot that broke down under pressure. A pattern an opponent kept exploiting. A decision that kept costing points. Those real problems are gold, because we can isolate them, recode them and improve them - and your match performance keeps climbing as a result.
Coaching in a vacuum improves your practice. Coaching fed by real match problems improves your tennis. That feedback loop - play, identify the problem, bring it in, fix it, play again - is what makes weekly one-to-one coaching so powerful over time.
We've written more about why matches and practice need each other:
Who It's For
Weekly individual coaching suits you if you:
• Are playing matches - club tennis, leagues, tournaments - and want to keep improving
• Want ongoing, bespoke attention rather than a fixed block
• Are serious about building a complete game over months and seasons
• Have specific, recurring match problems you want to solve
• Want the flexibility of rescheduling around a busy life
If you're newer to the game or want a defined, contained piece of work, one of our six-lesson courses might suit you better to start. Weekly coaching is the long game.
How It Fits With Our Other Individual Coaching
Weekly direct debit coaching is one of several individual options:
• Complete Shot Making - a six-lesson course adding new shots to your game
• Decision Making - a six-lesson course on how and when to use your shots
• Serve Mastery - a focused four-week course dedicated to the serve
• Weekly direct debit - ongoing, bespoke one-to-one coaching that covers all of the above over time and applies it to your match play

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the weekly coaching work?
A regular weekly one-to-one slot, paid monthly by direct debit, with the same coach building your game over time.
What if I can't make my slot?
Give us 24 hours' notice and you can book any other available slot that week with any available coach. Or you can give your slot to another player to use in your place.
How is it different from the six-lesson courses?
The courses are fixed blocks with a set syllabus. Weekly coaching is bespoke and ongoing, covering the same material but tailored to you and applied to your match play over time.
Do I need to be playing matches?
It's not required, but it's where this coaching is most powerful. Bringing real match problems to your lessons creates a feedback loop that improves your tennis fastest.
Will you change the game I already have?
We build out and refine your game rather than tearing it down - adding options, developing your existing shots, and helping you use them the way that suits your style.
Who coaches it?
The same LTA qualified coaches who deliver our whole programme.
How do I book?
Submit an enquiry or call us, and we'll set up your weekly slot around availability.
